Special Tips for Sample Handling
Please ship pellets (cells) or tissue lysate solutions on dry-ice (avoid freeze/traw cycles) via overnight courier together with a filled Omics Technologies Proteomics Sample Submission Form.
Please follow the following protocol for cell collecting or cell lysate collecting:
1, Remove culture media as complete as possible;
2, Wash the cells with chilled (4°C) PBS for 2 times, each with 1/2 volume of the culture media you used;
3, Wash the cells with chilled (4°C) PBS containing protease inhibitors for 1 time, with 1/2 volume of the culture media you used;
4, Scrape the cells and collect them at a cornor of your plate/flask, and pipette the cells up and down multiple times;
5, Transfer the cells (respsuended in PBS with protease inhibitors) to a 10ml tube or 1.5ml tube;
6, Spin the tube at 1000rpm for 1 min at 4°C;
7, Remove the supernatant as complete as possible;
8, a) For sending cell pellet to us: Freeze the cell pellet with liguid nitrogen and keep them in your -80°C freezer. Please avoid putting them in -20°C freezers;
8, b) For sending cell lysate to us: Use your favorite lysis buffer to extract the total protein lysates and then freeze the cell lysates with liguid nitrogen and keep them in your -80°C freezer. Please avoid putting them in -20°C freezers;
9, Send the cell pellets/lysates to us on dry ice.
Please avoid using Trypsin during cell pellet/lysate collecting. Instead, please physically scrape them off the plate or flask using mechanical forces.
